Middle school students are encouraged to participate in math bowl
Middle school students from East Tennessee who excel in math are invited to participate in the Third Annual Pellissippi Middle School Math Bowl to see how their knowledge and skills stack up to others in the region who are in the same grade. The bowl is sponsored by the math faculty at Pellissippi State.Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades are invited to compete April 27 from 8 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
The bowl is limited to the first 400 students who register, and students must register by April 19. It is open to any middle school student in the East Tennessee area.
The contest consists of a challenging multiple choice exam designed by college professors throughout the state. Trophies will be awarded to the top five students at each grade level. In addition, an award will also be given to the Best All-Around School.
