Employee Appreciation Day honors employees
Make plans now to attend the 2006 Employee Appreciation Day on
Thursday, April 27, starting at 12:15 p.m. The program will take
place in the Goins Auditorium and will be broadcast live to the
satellite campuses.
Employee Appreciation Day is the College’s way of acknowledging
its outstanding employees. The event also recognizes employees
with five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service, as well
as those who are retiring.
The Pellissippi State Foundation provides the funding for all
of the employee awards.
This year’s Gene Joyce Visionary Award nominees are Karen
Queener; the Adult Education team of Joan Newman, Beverly Jolley,
Tamela Wheeler, Joe Morin and Patrica Varga; and the articulation
and transfer program team of Berta Ward, Cheryl Leach, Rachel
Cragle and Sheryl Burnett.
Nominees for the Excellence in Teaching Award are Charles Cardwell,
Beverly Burdette, Sharon Burlingame, Ed Francisco, Margaret Franzen,
Tom Gaddis, Toni McDaniel, Keith Norris and Yolanda Sankey.
The Innovations Award nominees are Julie Bell, Ron Bridges, Gay
Bryant, Candice Dendy, Annie Gray, Beverly Jolley, Linda Randolph,
Lisa Satterfield, Berta Ward and Greg Walters; the team of Robert
Boyd and Candice Dendy; the Business Capstone team of Roger Crowe,
Rick Oster and Ann Swartzlander; the team of Ron Bridges, Dawn
Roberts and Ellen Keene; the FLAG team of Carolyn Best, Betty
Bumgarner, Joan Newman, Linda Randolph and JoAnne Thomasson (Cathy
Clay and Nancy Pevey are part of this team, but they won last
year and are not eligible to be considered this year); the Foundations
of Excellence Task Force; and the Instructional Development Committee
grant team of Linda Manning, Elaine Oswald, Carolyn Renier, Linda
Smith-Staton, Wanda Scarbro and Stewart Taylor.
Employees nominated for more than one of the three awards as either
an individual or team member can be considered for only one.
Nominees for the Outstanding Technical/Service/Maintenance Award
are Regina Collins, Gary Hinshaw, Mike Looney, Gail Maples, J.J.
Patterson, Charles Stinnett, Mike Walters, Gerald Richardson and
Julie Bell.
For the Outstanding Administrator Award, the nominees are Cynthia
Dempster, Margaret Ann Jeffries, Pat Myers, Phyllis Pace, Karen
Queener, Ann Satkowiak, Leigh Anne Touzeau, Audrey Williams, Dave
Walton, Anthony Wise and Kim Thomas.
The nominees for Support Professional are Kim (Bailey) Duran,
Barbara Bailes, Ann Burgess, Sue Carter, Rachael Cragle, Angela
Edwards, Lisa Fondren, Karen Ghezawi, Jackie Ingram, Pat Lee,
Rhonda Mattingly, Eileen McAllister, Carol Nicolls, Bonnie Powell,
Beckie Scott, Karen Webb and Karen Whitaker.
Outstanding Full-time Faculty nominees are Tyra Barrett, Lawana
Day, Becky Blackwell, Bill Brewer, Kathy Byrd, Candice Dendy,
Angela Perry, Carol Luther, Martha Merrill, Chris Milne and Mary
Nietling.
Nominees for Outstanding Adjunct Faculty are Anthony Akers, Linda
Dunlap-Allison, Rob Bell, Jerry Huffman, Marty Komorny, Jonathan
Morrell, Bonnie Mysinger, Miriam Nelson, Kimberly Stanley, Terenia
Schumann, Mary Terry and Jane Wilson.
Music for Employee Appreciation Day will be provided by Variations,
singing selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom
of the Opera” under the direction of Bill Brewer. They will
be introduced by Linda Stutzenberger.
This year’s theme is “getconnected.”
