Inside Pellissippi

First Tennessee executive to address Pellissippi State graduates

Pam Fansler, president of First Tennessee Bank, Knoxville, is the guest speaker at this year’s Commencement.

The ceremony is Friday, May 4, 7 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. More than 650 students are set to graduate this year.

Fansler is involved in Pellissippi State’s major gifts campaign, Connecting Communities, Changing Lives. The campaign’s public kickoff was April 17 and included a brief program and an outdoor luncheon at the Pellissippi Campus. The goal of the campaign is $6 million, and $4.2 million of that has already been raised.

Fansler began her banking career at Valley Fidelity Bank and Trust Company in 1976 in the branch system, continuing with the bank when it was acquired by First Tennessee in 1991. At First Tennessee, she has had a variety of responsibilities, including commercial banking and real estate, corporate banking, cash management, private client services and small business.

She has long been active in the community and is currently chair of the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership. Fansler is also on the boards of Covenant Health, the Fort Sanders Foundation, the Knoxville Symphony, the East Tennessee Economic Development Agency and Leadership Knoxville.

In addition, she is on the management committee of Jobs NOW and the nominating committee for the Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council and is a member of the Executive Women’s Association, the Alcoa Community Forum and the University of Tennessee’s Chancellor’s Associates.
