‘Bluegrass and Barbeque’ event scheduled May 21 near Maryville

True Blue will provide the tunes at the first “Blount County Bluegrass and Barbeque” fund raising event for the Pellissippi State Foundation May 21.

Proceeds from the event will help the Foundation support Pellissippi State’s Blount County Center in Alcoa.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the farm of Keith and Peggy McCord, 4230 Montvale Road, near Maryville and will include both live and silent auctions. The cost to attend is $35 per person.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a volunteer board of community leaders. It provides a variety of direct aid to students and also purchases equipment needed in the College’s instructional areas. The Foundation also supports recognition programs for Pellissippi State students, faculty and staff.
