The different faces of adult education

Frederic Leyd, like many adults, needed a General Education Development credential to attend college. But that’s about the only thing Leyd had in common with Shatoya Harper, Donald Barnard and other GED students in the Adult Education program at Pellissippi State. (more)



President Edwards honored with Project GRAD award

President Allen Edwards has received “The Caught Doing Right for Kids” Award from Knoxville Project GRAD for his work in helping students at participating Knoxville schools. The ceremony took place at the Project GRAD Celebration Dinner May 9 at the Knoxville Convention Center. (more)



Associate professor recognized by international honor society

Carol O’Farrell, an associate professor of English, has received the Paragon Award for new advisors from the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa. (more)



Top faculty and staff named for 2006

Seven faculty and staff members and one instructional team have earned recognition at the College’s 2006 Employee Awards Ceremony. (more)



Hot Air Balloon festival grows in popularity

It hasn’t even happened yet, but the Hot Air Balloon Festival scheduled for September has already been selected as a must-see event by the Southeast Tourism Society. (more)


College computer class helps local organization

A class project during the spring semester at the College has international implications for a local organization that asked for help. (more)



Akima Club honors past president with Foundation grant

The late Patty Thompson, long-time member of the Akima Club of Knoxville and past president of the organization, has been honored by the club with a scholarship in her name to the Pellissippi State Foundation. (more)

Title: Technical Clerk, Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Planning

Major responsibilities: The main things that I do are design, develop, publish, organize, update and deploy online content, forms, programs, databases and surveys, including the Pellissippi State Fact Book; plan the calendar and associated documents; and do the Institutional Research, Grant Development, and Foundation of Excellence Web sites.
