Seven faculty and staff members and one instructional team have
earned recognition at the College’s 2006 Employee Awards
Ceremony.
All winners received a cash award funded by the Pellissippi State
Foundation.
Keith
S. Norris earned the Excellence in Teaching award, the College’s
top honor for a full-time faculty member.
“Teaching is my favorite part of the job at Pellissippi
State, and the more I teach, the more I am convinced of the quality
of our students,” said Norris. Norris is an associate professor
of English and joined the faculty full time in 1995.
Annie Gray, an associate professor of English who’s been
here since 2001, received the Innovations award for designing
and implementing a combined course that allowed students to meet
their academic requirements for several courses in one semester.
“I am excited that the course has been recognized, because
it works,” said Gray.
The team of employees from the Adult Education program earned
the Gene Joyce Visionary award. The program started in 1992 and
is now one of the largest adult education programs in the state.

teacher; Patricia Varga, Learning and Testing Center secretary;
