Balloon rally lifts off September 23-24

Colorful hot air balloons will rise in late September during the Pellissippi State Hot Air Balloon Festival 2005.

Activities will take place at the Pellissippi Campus Friday, September 23, 4-9 p.m., and Saturday, September 24, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The balloon festival will include children’s activities, local and national entertainment, food vendors, and arts and crafts. Proceeds will benefit the Pellissippi State Foundation, the main fundraising entity for the College.

Pellissippi State officials are inviting local and regional arts and crafts vendors to call about setting up displays and exhibits. An estimated 20,000 people attended last year’s rally.

Balloons are scheduled to fly September 24 in the early morning and late afternoon, weather permitting. Also scheduled is a balloon “glow” September 23 at 8:30 p.m., next to the campus pond. Pilots will choreograph the lighting of their balloons to music.

For additional information, call the Foundation at 694-6528.
