New computer degree options at Pellissippi State
The College has expanded the options available to students under its
popular Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) degree program.
Students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in CSIT can now
follow one of three specialized concentrations:
* Internet Software Development, which prepares students for employment
in Internet design and development.
* Database Design and Development, which emphasizes database design, database
development and Oracle applications.
* Programming, which equips students for careers in programming languages
such as Visual Basic, Java, C++, Delphi and Perl.
Besides coursework, all CSIT students complete a 135-hour internship that
allows them to gain on-the-job experience before graduation.
With an average enrollment of more than 250 students, CSIT is the largest
of the 20 Career/Technical degree programs.
