Pellissippi State Foundation to benefit from this weekend’s outdoor event

Ride the latest in all-terrain vehicles! Test your skills by scaling a climbing wall! Try your luck at riding a mechanical bull! You, your family and friends are invited to try out all of these activities and more at this weekend’s Outdoor Sports Adventures Event. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14, noon-5 p.m. on the Pellissippi Campus.

ATVAlcoa Good Times Kawasaki Yamaha, Mountain Adventures Honda, Journal Broadcasting Group (Hot 104.5, Star 102.1 and The Ticket), The Rush and Twin City Nissan are sponsoring the day of outdoor fun. It costs nothing to attend, but there will be a small charge for participating in the various activities. All proceeds will go to the Pellissippi State Foundation.

Hot 104.5 will broadcast live during the afternoon. In addition, some of the station’s personalities, as well as certain Pellissippi State employees, have said that participants just might have the opportunity to try to soak them in a dunking booth.

Pluto Sports will provide a skateboarding demonstration. Volleyball enthusiasts are already signing up to participate in an outdoor volleyball tournament.

And don’t forget all of the Pellissippi State volunteers who will be there. Representatives from the Support Staff Council and Administrative Council will be on hand to sell food to help raise money for their scholarship funds. In addition, many other employees have offered their services as needed to make the day successful.

If you have any questions, would like to volunteer or would like to sign up for the volleyball tournament, please contact Les Fout, director of annual giving and alumni relations, at 539-7241 or lgfout@pstcc.edu.
