first, beer or bread?"
So,
which one did come first-beer or bread? Award-winning
writer Alex Gabbard kicks off the yearlong Authors Series
with that question September 26 in the Performing Arts
Center. The series is sponsored by Edward Francisco, the
College's writer-in-residence, and the English Department.
The
Gabbard presentation is scheduled 12-1:30 p.m. and is
free. The public is encouraged to attend. (more)
Faculty
recital features a free worldwide musical tour
Some
of Pellissippi State’s best musicians will present
"Virtual Travel Through the Arts" during the
annual faculty recital Tuesday, September 30. The free
concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

several free Study Smart workshops offered in October
and November.

eLearnIT partners celebrate successful venture
Participants
in eLearnIT are celebrating the successful completion
of their three-year $1.3 million grant from the Fund for
the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). More
than 1,200 students have now participated in 74 online
courses and have earned credit toward 11 different professional
certificates or degrees. (more)
