EMPLOYEE PROFILE
Name:
Linnette Legg
Title: Administrative Assistant to the President
Major responsibilities: Assisting President
Edwards in his activities—planning and scheduling activities
and special events, handling travel arrangements, creating and
editing reports and correspondence and doing whatever else the
president needs.
Length of service at the College: It will be
two years in November.
Place of birth: Oak Ridge, Tennessee—I’m
part of the generation of Oak Ridgers that glow in the dark!
Family members: My sons, Brian and Christopher,
and our dog, Coco.
Something no one knows about you: I’m
a Broadway musical junkie, and I’ve always wanted to play/sing
in a piano bar.
Greatest achievement or proudest moment: One
of my favorite achievements was being named “Best Musical
Director” by the Community Theater Organization in Nashville.
It was hard work, great fun, and I got a trophy. My proudest moments
these days revolve around my sons. I get teary-eyed watching my
son Brian when he performs with the ORHS band.
Favorite
things outside work: Spending time with my sons and doing
anything musical.
Most rewarding part of your job: Knowing at
the end of the day/week/month that everything went as planned.
Most Influential Person in your life and why: The
greatest influence was my mother, who encouraged me at all times
and in all things, accepted my decisions even when she didn’t
agree with them, tried to teach me not to take things too seriously
and provided a shoulder to cry on when I needed one. She was always
there for me, and I miss her tremendously.
Favorite quote: I don’t really have a
favorite quote, but I do have a favorite bumper sticker: “What
if the Hokey Pokey IS what it’s all about?”
