Pellissippi State hosts October 11 college and career fair

The College is hosting the upcoming Smoky Mountain Regional College and Career Fair, specifically targeted to high school students and their parents.

The event is October 11, 6-8 p.m. The fair will take place on the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road in the Student Recreation Center.

Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities nationwide plan to participate.

The event is sponsored by the Smoky Mountain Counseling Association, which provides professional development for guidance counselors. The organization helps students in the East Tennessee region increase their educational opportunities.

The SMCA will host a drawing to give away a minimum of three $500 scholarships to high school seniors. To be eligible, seniors must submit an application at the event. Seniors should see their high school guidance counselor for the form.

The scholarship can be used to attend any college.
