College hits highest-ever enrollment

Enrollment figures are in for fall semester at Pellissippi State, and the number of credit students who have signed up for classes is at an all time high.

The headcount for fall semester shows that 8,188 credit students are enrolled at Pellissippi State. The number represents a 6.5 percent increase over enrollment for fall semester 2005.

“We’re thrilled that our programs are attracting more and more people,” said Jim Bruns, vice president of Academic and Student Affairs. “Our goal every day is to provide a first-rate education that prepares our students to transfer to a four-year institution or enter the workforce directly after graduating.”

Pellissippi State offers 19 Career/Technical degree programs for students who plan to earn a two-year associate’s degree, then pursue a career. The College also has numerous College Transfer options for students who want to earn a two-year degree and continue on to a four-year school.
