Karen Queener selected for professional association’s Leadership Program

Karen Queener, director of Human Resources and Affirmative Action at the College, was recently invited to participate in the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources’ Association Leadership Program.

Queener currently serves as co-president of Tennessee’s newly formed chapter of CUPA-HR. She was one of 70 outstanding higher education HR leaders to be invited. The 70 were chosen from 1,500 higher education institutions and 7,300 higher education HR professionals.

The program is designed to provide CUPA-HR leaders and emerging leaders with a vision of the association’s direction, strategic initiatives, programs and services. It also provides participants with a higher understanding of leadership roles.

The three-day program occurred in Tempe, Arizona, in July. All expenses were paid by CUPA-HR.
