Faculty opens 2005-06 concert series October 6
"Pellissippi Pops," featuring solo, duet and small-ensemble
performances by faculty members, will be presented October 6 at
8 p.m. as the initial program in the college’s 2005-06 concert
series.
The program will consist of vocal and instrumental music designed
to appeal to many musical tastes, including ragtime ("The
Entertainer" by Scott Joplin), folk music, pop tunes (a
medley of Beatles songs), jazz standards and selections from "West
Side Story."
The concert takes place in the Performing Arts Center on the Pellissippi
Campus. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for
the college’s Music Scholarship fund.
Six concerts and two recitals make up the series of musical programs
at the College this academic year, including two choral concerts
November 3 and April 25, a small-ensemble concert November 22,
and a jazz band and guitar ensemble concert April 11. The annual
student honors recital is scheduled March 21.
