Inside Pellissippi

College offers non-credit American Sign Language course

Want to broaden your communication skills? Register for the fall non-credit course in American Sign Language basics at the Blount County Center. The class, scheduled October 12-December 7, is for people who have no prior knowledge of American Sign Language.

Students will learn ASL grammar, terminology and signs, along with various aspects of local deaf culture. They can expect to learn the basics of communicating with users of American Sign Language.

The class will meet 6-8:30 p.m. every Thursday except November 23, which is Thanksgiving. The course is $95, plus a $15 materials fee to be paid at registration.
