Inside Pellissippi

Blood drive scheduled for Blount County Center October 19

The Blount County Center will be the site of a blood drive October 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The drive is open to the public.

Representatives of Medic Regional Blood Center will conduct the blood drive. Medic is the only blood collector and supplier for all eight Knoxville area hospitals and for about 20 other hospitals in East Tennessee and Southeast Kentucky.

Organizers say all blood types are needed. Donors will receive a T-shirt and can have a cholesterol screening.
