Faculty recital takes on animal theme

Audience members will feel like they’re a part of the animal world as they listen to the selections performed at the Music Program’s Fall 2004 Faculty Recital. “Carnival of the Animals” is the theme of this year’s production, which features various vocal and instrumental combinations depicting a menagerie of creatures.

Performances include a rendition of “Cat Duet,” a piece by Gioacchino Rossini that is also known as “Le Duo des Chats” and “Duetto Buffo di Due Gatti”; a male quartet’s singing of the spiritual “De Animals Are Coming”; a xylophone rag; and an eight-hand piano arrangement of Franz Schubert’s famous “Trout Quintet.”

The recital will be on October 21 at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. It is free and open to the public.
