EMPLOYEE PROFILE
Name:
Cindy Tanner
Title: Publications Coordinator
Major responsibilities: I edit and coordinate
production of design and print work, and I design overflow jobs
when I can find time.
Length of service at the College: 12 years
Place of birth: Olney, Illinois (right up the
road from where Rick Bower in Library Services was raised!)
Family members: My partner (Brian Miller); two
English shepherds (Robby and Ginny) and a collie–blue heeler
cross (Tip); two cats (Mickey and Rita); and two Morgan horses
(Oksana and Ellie)
Something no one knows about you: I have a flowering
almond bush grown from cuttings my family has shared for more
than 200 years.
Greatest achievement or proudest moment: Most
recently—at work, creating the viewbook and, at home, designing
and building a bench to store muddy shoes.
Favorite
things outside work: Hanging out with the dogs, listening
to the impromptu symphonies of the livestock, working on the farm,
taking in the beauty and infinite surprises of the natural world.
Most rewarding part of your job: I love to come
up with new ways to improve the College—like a couple of
years ago, when employees and students critiqued the course schedule
and I got to apply their ideas to make it easier to use.
Favorite quote: Pretty much anything Thomas Jefferson
said.
