Blount Countians contribute to record enrollment at College

The fall figures for Pellissippi State show that enrollment at the College is at an all-time high, and Blount Countians are playing a part in setting the record.

The overall headcount for the College is at 8,188 credit students, up 6.5 percent from fall 2005. The percentage increase in the number of Blount County residents attending Pellissippi State is even higher—at 1,310, it’s up by more than 7 percent.

“We are glad to be able to serve the needs of our Blount County students who are seeking a better future through higher education,” said Allen Edwards, Pellissippi State president. “Blount County is growing, and the need for an educated and skilled workforce has never been more important. We look forward to providing even more Blount County students with an education in the future.”

The College has offered classes in Blount County since 1986.
