Mike Hudson, a longtime employee of Pellissippi State, has
been presented the 2006 Human Resources Management Excellence
Award from the Society for Human Resources Management State

Countians contribute to record enrollment at College
The fall figures for Pellissippi State show that enrollment
at the College is at an all-time high, and Blount Countians

City” author Touré to speak
Touré, author of “Soul City” (2004) and
“Never Drank the Kool Aid” (2006), will speak

Mathematics
awarded $10,000 ORAU grant
The Pellissippi State Foundation has received a $10,000
grant from Oak Ridge Associated Universities to support
the activities of Pellissippi State’s Mathematics

Film Festival scheduled
The public is invited to attend the annual French Film Festival
November 8-9. This year’s event includes free screenings

Francisco
returns from Oxford Round Table
Having spent one week in July in an intensive round-table
discussion on a split in education between the arts and
humanities and science and mathematics, Ed Francisco, writer-in-residence
and associate professor of English, has returned full of
knowledge—and perhaps more questions. (more)
Fall Open
House set for November 11
The annual Fall Open House at the College
will take place Saturday, November 11, beginning at 9 a.m.
The College is inviting prospective students and their parents
to tour the campus, attend information sessions and meet
with students and faculty to learn about degree programs
and other options.
The Open House will take place on the Pellissippi Campus.
College
hosts consequences of Iraqi war seminar
Dan Senor, the former chief spokesperson for the U.S.-led
coalition in Iraq, will speak via DVD recording October
25 in the second of four Phi Theta Kappa honor society seminars
at Pellissippi State. (more)

State offers Root Cause Analysis workshop
Anyone who works as an engineer, manager, supervisor or
team member and wants to improve his or her ability to solve
recurring problems will benefit from an upcoming workshop
