Pellissippi State offers Root Cause Analysis workshop
Anyone who works as an engineer, manager, supervisor or team member
and wants to improve his or her ability to solve recurring problems
will benefit from an upcoming workshop offered by Business and
Community Services.
The two-day, results-focused course, Root Cause Analysis, will
be conducted November 6-7 at the Pellissippi Campus.
Participants will gain a better understanding and confidence in
the work skills needed to fully use root-cause analysis as a value-added
tool. Those skills include how to use quality control tools such
as flowcharts, cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto charts, check
sheets, run charts, histograms and scatter diagrams.
The workshop, offered in cooperation with the Design Management
Alliance and taught by facilitator Duke Oaks, is designed to enhance
problem-solving effectiveness, clarify the difference between
analytical and creative thinking, and expand the range of tools
available for analyzing problem situations.
The class has limited seating, and advanced registration is required
by November 1. The cost is $545, which includes the workbook and
lunch.
To learn more or to register, contact LouAnn Vahcic in Business
and Community Services at 539-7167.
