Workshop focuses on suicide warning signs

Identifying the warning signs of potential suicide will be the subject of a free workshop November 1 at the Blount County Center.

“QPR for Suicide Prevention—Question, Persuade and Refer” is the topic of a presentation by Stacy Hicks of the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee. The workshop will take place 6:30-8 p.m.

The workshop is open to those who might be interested in knowing more about how to recognize signs that a friend or loved one might be contemplating suicide.

Information will be provided on warning signs, how to get help and resources available. Resource materials also will be distributed at the workshop.

For additional information or to reserve a seat, call 981-5300.
