CameraFrench Film Festival scheduled for November

Francophiles take note: Pellissippi State offers the opportunity for “le bon temps.” This year’s annual French Film Festival, November 1-3, will feature three movies: “La Grande Seduction,” “Bon Voyage” and “Les Triplettes de Belleville.” All three films were released in 2003 and are in French with English subtitles. Pellissippi State schedules Fall Concert

Two Pellissippi State choirs, Concert Chorale and Variations, will perform for this year’s Fall Concert. “It is a classic choral concert,” said Bill Brewer, who conducts both choirs. “The audience will hear classics from the Renaissance to contemporary selections—it’s a variety of styles and time periods.” (more)

Fall Writers’ Series takes listeners on journeys

MS“Migrants and Stowaways: An Anthology of Journeys” is a collection of poetry, prose, and art that sends the reader across the South, around the globe, and into the human mind. The book, the sixth anthology from the Knoxville Writers’ Guild, was published just this month and is already receiving good reviews. The public is invited to hear four contributors to this collection read excerpts and talk about their work as part of the Fall Writers’ Series at Pellissippi State. (more)

LeaSinger/songwriter to perform at Pellissippi State

Singer/songwriter Lea will perform her own blend of acoustic rock, folk, jazz and blues during four performances at Pellissippi State. The performances are part of the College’s monthlong celebration “The Beauty of Cultures.” (more)

Internet SwitchPellissippi State’s Web site has record-setting month

September generated the largest amount of traffic for Pellissippi State’s Web site to date. The nearly 12.2 million hits surpassed the previous high, set in February 2004, of 10 million hits. In total, 65,000 different individuals viewed more than 789,000 pages of College information in September. (more)

Students can explore a paralegal career

Paralegal Studies and the Placement Office are sponsoring a Paralegal Studies Career Exploration Fair October 27, 9:45-noon, on the Division Street Campus. This will be an opportunity for students to explore careers as a paralegal and to meet with local law firms and employers. All interested students are welcome.
