Family members: Husband, JT Boring Sr. We have been married 38 years. Oldest son, JT Jr., 36; second son, Roger, 34; daughter, Amanda, 26. I have five grandchildren: three grandsons from Tom, ages 17, 13, and 10, and a granddaughter, 6, and grandson, 9 months, from Roger.

Something no one knows about you: My husband and I make muscadine wine as a hobby.

Greatest achievement or proudest moment: Receiving my high school diploma at the age of 30 and receiving my diploma from Pellissippi State at the age of 40, then being the first employee hired at Blount County Center, July 5, 1988.

Favorite things outside work: My husband’s and my taking mini vacations with friends and spending time with my five grandchildren.

Most rewarding part of your job: Observing the growth of Pellissippi State and knowing you had a part in that growth.

Greatest unfulfilled ambition: Achieving my B.A. by the time I receive my first Social Security check and going on a mission trip to some far-off place.

Favorite quote: I have many positive quotes for I choose to think positive, but the one I repeat the most is “I can do all things through Christ whom strengths me.” Sometimes I have to repeat it more than once, because I am always pursuing challenges to enhance my present abilities. I even have that as my objective on my resume. I love challenges.
