descendant to speak at International Days
The long Chinese beard, weeping mustache and elaborate flowing
robes may be missing, but Hsiang-te Kung, the clean-shaven
direct descendant of Confucius, is keeping the ancient philosopher’s

The Civil War had its share of military heroes, and their
mark on American history has been recorded as truth and
fiction by thousands of writers in the nearly 150 years

Pellissippi State Fall Ensemble Concert to include student composition
Matt Stephens, a Music student at Pellissippi State, has composed an original work, “A Christmas Hymn,” that the college’s Brass Ensemble will perform November 20 as part of the Fall Ensemble Concert. (more)

The Coffee and Conversation Café on November 5, 8:15-10:30
a.m., kicks off the College’s ‘Window on the
World” International Days celebration. International
students will gather in the Goins Rotunda for the event
to chat with visitors about life in the students’
native countries. The activity is open to the community.

Like Ben Stiller’s security guard character in the
2006 movie “Night at the Museum,” you may soon
find yourself all alone in the night—not in a cursed
museum but in the darkened hallway of Bleak House. Bleak
House is the Civil War mansion on Kingston Pike where Confederate
sharpshooters took aim at Union troops during the Battle

Major
responsibilities: The coordinator provides support
for faculty, students, staff and the community through
the College’s Web site. The coordinator manages
and maintains the Luminis Content Management System and
provides support in the form of training and needs-based
employee assistance in the publishing of online information.
The coordinator is also responsible for the creation,
maintenance and good care of online College materials
and works with other employees to ensure the accuracy
and functionality of online systems.
