Internal family campaign seeks 100 percent participation

Stand up and be counted.

Or at least make sure your dollars are counted.

The Pellissippi State Foundation will soon launch the annual internal family campaign on behalf of the College, and your help is needed to make it a success.

Beginning November 12, every employee—full- and part-time, regular and contract, faculty and staff—will have an opportunity to make a gift to the fund drive.

The three-week campaign ends November 30.

The internal family campaign takes place annually, with the exception of last year, when the major gifts campaign was in full swing.

“This year we are aiming for 100 percent participation,” said President Allen Edwards. “Our faculty and staff are among the most dedicated I have ever worked with, and they continue to set higher standards each year to deliver the best programs possible.

“Every dollar given in the internal family campaign will yield benefits many times over.”

Edwards has appointed three co-chairs representative of faculty and staff in this year’s campaign: Karen Ghezawi, support staff; Gayle Wood, administrators; and Pat Riddle, faculty. Every department, division and campus also will be assigned a campaign representative to distribute information about how to contribute.

As an added incentive to encourage giving, each person who returns a pledge form this year will be eligible for a prize. All recurring payroll deduction donors are automatically qualified to enter the drawings as well.

The internal family campaign gives employees the flexibility to designate their gifts to more than 80 different areas.

“With so many designation options, everyone should be able to find something to support through this campaign,” said Ghezawi.

During the previous internal family campaign, 68 percent of employees donated more than $43,000.

“One hundred percent participation is ambitious,” said Edwards, “so every gift, regardless of the amount, will be appreciated.”
