Name: Carol Nicolls

Title: Computer Operations Specialist

Major responsibilities: Assist in preparing and/or reconciling numerous reports, maintain the College’s accounts receivable, invoice software, process financial aid and student refund checks, and create and maintain Web pages for the Business Office.

Place of birth: Knoxville

Family members: My husband Charles, our “furry” children Maggie (a boxer) and Kiki (a long-haired cat), and two stepchildren who live in Lebanon, Tennessee, Calista, 18, and Doug (Bucky), 17

Something no one knows about you: Well, there is a reason no one knows!

Greatest achievement or proudest moment: I feel there are more achievements and wonderful moments to come, but to date my greatest personal achievement is graduating from college and continuing to keep my computer skills up to date. My proudest moment was when I married my husband Charles.

Favorite things outside work: Spending time with family and friends, watching a good movie, playing computer and video games and wishing I had more money to travel.

Most influential person in your life and why: My Mom. Growing up, I just thought of it as “nagging,” but I now know they were words of love and knowledge, and without them I would not be the woman I am today.

Favorite quote: “Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself”; “Smile, it will make people wonder what you are up to”; and “You can’t change the past, but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying over the future.” –All unknown
