Toastmasters meets today
Faculty, staff and students: Want to improve classroom presentations,
develop your leadership skills or become more comfortable speaking
in front of a group? Then you’ll want to be at the meeting
of Resource Valley Raconteurs, the College’s Toastmasters
chapter.
An information and demonstration meeting is today, 4:30-5:30 p.m.,
in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room in the Goins Building.
Meetings are every first and third Monday in the same location.
The club is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and relatives
of Pellissippi State students or employees - and it may soon be
open to members of the community as well.
Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped millions of
men and women become more confident in front of an audience.
“Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you
need to effectively express yourself in any situation,”
said Donn King, who helped charter the chapter and created the
College’s Toastmasters Web site.
“Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent
or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and
affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning
to formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new
world of possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident
when giving presentations and you’ll improve your one-on-one
dealings with others.”
