Inside Pellissippi

Fall Ensemble Concert promises musical variety

The Music program presents an evening of instrumental chamber music November 21, beginning at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Scheduled to perform are Pellissippi State’s Harp Ensemble, directed by Peggy Hinkle; Brass Ensemble, directed by Tom Lundberg; Guitar Ensemble, directed by Larry Vincent; and Celtic Ensemble, directed by Leslie Terry.

The Harp Ensemble will present a repertoire ranging from Bach to colorful Spanish dances.

The Brass Ensemble will perform works that span the Renaissance to the 20th century, including a familiar chorale and a unique arrangement of a well-known folk song.

The Guitar Ensemble will perform selections ranging from Baroque standards to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely?”

The Celtic Ensemble, which includes violin, flute, penny whistle, guitar and percussions, will perform pieces from the 15th and 16th century.

The concert is open to the public, and admission is free. For more information, call 539-7178.
