Pellissippi State signs agreement with Nashville art college

Officials of Pellissippi State and Watkins College of Art & Design in Nashville have signed an agreement by which Pellissippi State students can transfer more easily into Watkins’ bachelor’s degree courses. (more)



Outdoors Club sponsors gift collection for Lakeshore residents

The Outdoors Club is collecting gift items to distribute at the Lakeshore Mental Health Institute over the holiday season. (more)

The impact of marketing on America’s newest and youngest generation of spenders—children—will be the focal point of an interactive seminar November 21.

Pellissippi State schedules Fall Ensemble, Holiday Spectacular concerts

The annual Fall Ensemble concert will take place November 22 at 8 p.m., and the annual “Holiday Spectacular” will take place December 6 at 8 p.m., both in the Performing Arts Center. (more)

Scenes from Neil Simon’s “The Good Doctor” will be presented December 7 by students in the Magnolia Avenue Campus Drama Club. (more)



Free computer skills classes to be offered

Free computer skills classes for beginners are being offered at four locations by the Adult Education Program. The classes will focus on computer literacy, word processing, Internet and e-mail usage and simple spreadsheets. (more)



Classes to begin in January in new security program

Courses in security investigation techniques, emergency planning and security management will be offered as part of Pellissippi State’s newest degree program, which starts in the spring semester. (more)



Queener named co-president of new human resources group

Karen Queener, director of Human Resources, has been named co-president of a Tennessee state chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources that has been established in Knoxville. (more)



Military veterans honored at reception

About 30 military veterans who are full-time or part-time employees of the College were recognized at a Veterans’ Day reception November 11 in the Goins Student Lounge. (more)
