Pellissippi State’s top faculty, staff members named for 2004-05

Outdoors Club sponsors gift collection for Lakeshore residents

The Outdoors Club is collecting gift items to distribute at the Lakeshore Mental Health Institute over the holiday season.

Angela Smith, treasurer of the club, says the goal is to collect at least $300 in financial contributions and at least 900 gift and personal items that can be presented to the approximately 120 long-term residents and 200 short-term patients at the institute.

“The majority of those patients do not have family or funds to buy some of the simplest things in life that most of us take for granted,” she said.

Money and donated items will be collected for three weeks beginning November 21 at the Goins Cafeteria, Goins Student Lounge and third floor of the McWherter Building and in the student lounge of the Division Street, Magnolia Avenue and Blount County campuses.
