Middle East expert to speak at Pellissippi State

A local expert on the Middle East will give his views on the Israeli-Palestinian tension and other current Middle East topics on December 2 as part of the Liberal Arts Lecture Series.

Jim Harb, a 1968 graduate of the University of Tennessee, has served as director of the Palestine Education Foundation in Washington, D.C., and was U.S. development director for the Ramallah Friends School, a 100-year-old Quaker school in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Harb will talk about the history of conflict in the Middle East region, “9/11,” the war in Iraq, and foreign relations between the U.S. and Islamic countries. The presentation will be held at 12:15 p.m. in the Goins Auditorium.
