Twelve Pellissippi State students named to ‘Who’s Who’ list

Twelve students at Pellissippi State have been included in the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.”

The students are Anastasia V. Aksenova, Kimberly Ann Bailes, Carrie Ashley Brown, Mansour Fall, Tam Thanh Ha, Jennifer Liem, Morgan Marie Wallace, Brittainy D. Wesley, Tonya R. Welsh and Lisa Ann Wills, all of Knoxville; Nicholas Shawn Sewell, Powell; and Melinda Sue-Taylor Hatfield, Pioneer.

Students were chosen based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and recommendations by faculty, staff and community leaders.

The selected students join an elite group representing more than 1,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The first edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges” was published in 1966.

Pellissippi State serves more than 8,600 credit students at four sites in Knox and Blount counties.
