International ‘Holiday Spectacular’ music event is tomorrow

Pellissippi State goes international with its eighth annual “Holiday Spectacular” tomorrow evening. This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World.”

Sponsored by the Music program, the event will highlight the traditions of various cultures with holiday music offerings from selected countries.

A first for the event is this year’s performance by the Faculty and Staff Ensemble. The vocal ensemble will join student music groups—choral, brass, Celtic, guitar, harp and jazz—from the College.

A total of 110 students will participate in the 90-minute event, and holiday concertgoers will get a bonus when Pellissippi State dance students perform two ballet selections to enhance the spirit of the season.

“Christmas Around the World” takes place at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Donations to the Pellissippi State Foundation for Music scholarships will be accepted at the door.
