Freshmen eligible for additional scholarships
in 2006-07

Pellissippi State will provide up to four new scholarships through the Edscholar scholarship program for incoming freshmen in the 2006-07 academic year.

Grants of up to $2,250 will be available per student per year based on academic record, financial need, community service and leadership in high school.

Edscholar, a student loan provider, is underwriting the scholarships for qualified first-year students who are Tennessee residents. The scholarships are renewable and can be continued for two additional years if a student from a two-year school transfers to a four-year school.

“We are pleased to be among the Tennessee colleges and universities where the Edscholar program helps defray the cost of tuition,” said Peggy Wilson, vice president of College Advancement and executive director of the Pellissippi State Foundation. “This kind of assistance often is the difference between being able and not being able to attend college.”

For additional information on the Edscholar program, contact Pat Peace at 694-6566 or ppeace@pstcc.edu.
