Dual Enrollment program gives high students a head start

Thanks to the Dual Enrollment program offered by Pellissippi State, nearly 60 seniors at Maryville and William Blount high schools are getting a jump start this fall on earning those “dreaded” college English credits—without ever having to leave their high school classroom. (more)

Grade reporting just got easier

Faculty, imagine not having to drive to campus to submit your grades! Think how convenient it would be to report your grades from the comfort and convenience of your own home! Starting this semester it’s not just a dream.

Online grade reporting will be available December 13-17. Note that SIS will not allow grade reporting before or after these dates.

Online grade reporting is easy. Just follow these simple instructions:

From the College’s home page, select “Web for Faculty and Advisors.” Click on “Login,” then enter your faculty ID and PIN. Select the appropriate term. Select “Faculty Services,” then “Grade Courses,” followed by “Course for Grading” found in the drop-down box. Post your grades and enter the last day of attendance for each student receiving an F. Select “Submit” when you are finished.

With this new system, faculty, you will no longer need to submit a paper copy of your grades to Admissions and Records. But if you have any questions, you can contact that office at 694-6568.

Student organization helps first-year teacher

The Pellissippi State students—all future teachers themselves—decided to share their Christmas spirit by helping out a first-year public school teacher with the purchase of needed and desired classroom supplies. (more)

College donates more than $80,000 of computers

On behalf of Pellissippi State, president Allen Edwards formally donated 120 computers to Knox County Schools Superintendent Charles Lindsey last week at Spring Hill Elementary School. The computers, which have a value to the school system in excess of $80,000, will be used primarily at inner city schools to broaden student access different educational programs. (more)
