MA Counseling - Rehabilitation Counseling Education
BA – Sign Language Interpreting with a minor in Spanish

After 20 years of interpreting, I decided to change careers.  I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Education. I believe that everyone has a story, and I love walking with my students on their individual journeys. When I am not being fun and adventuresome with my students, I enjoy crafts, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

I love being on the cutting edge of the opening of the Strawberry Plains campus. It is exciting to see the establishment of a college in the East Knox County community. Keep your eyes on us – we are growing every day!

Because none of us lives in a vacuum, I believe in a holistic approach to counseling. College is one of those places that can be both overwhelming and amazing at the same time. Reminding them to breathe through the tough moments, one of my favorite things to ask my students is, “How do you eat an elephant?” The answer is, of course, “One bite at a time.”
