Theatre

Theatre courses are open to all regardless of course of study. For those wishing to pursue a theatre degree, courses are offered which will satisfy freshman and sophomore requirements for most bachelor degree programs. Additionally, we offer articulation agreements for theatre with a number of universities and colleges.

See the catalog for detailed descriptions of courses available in the theatre curriculum.

The Pellissippi Players produce two to three shows each year. The productions take place in the Performing Arts Center and at the satellite campuses. The Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the-art proscenium theatre with a seating capacity of 494. It has full dressing rooms for men and women, a make up room, acting studio, and green room. The technical booth houses a computerized light board, a large sound mixing board, and has multi-media capacity.

Future plans for the program include: joint productions with the music department (full scale musicals), development of new classes for the curriculum (including technical classes and a movement class,) and partnerships with other area theatres to produce more work in the Performing Arts Center.
