Lucinda Alexander - Associate Professor
Lucinda Alexander has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology, and a Master of Business Administration degree with a Finance concentration from the University of Tennessee. Before coming to Pellissippi State, she worked for First American National Bank in cash management and international banking. Lucinda teaches Financial Management and Economics.
Tyra Barrett - Associate Professor
Tyra Barrett is the Program Coordinator of Business Administration programs. She earned a B.A. and a M.A. in economics from the University of Tennesse and as a graduate student was awarded a Japan Foundation Fellowship to study in Japan. Before becoming a full-time faculty member, Tyra was twice nominated for Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member, and she also served as Evening Coordinator for the Academic Development Division from 1992-1994. Tyra's primary interest in economics include international trade, economic development, and the history of economic thought. She is a member of several professional organizations. She was chosen as the SIFE Walton Fellow for Pellissippi State and in this capacity will be faculty advisor for the Students in Free Enterprise chapter at the college. Tyra teaches Economics.
Lisa Bogaty - Associate Professor
Lisa Bogaty did both her graduate and undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee. She graduated with an M.B.A., dual major in Marketing and Finance, in 1983 and has completed all course work toward a PhD in Political Science with a major in Public Administration. Work experience has included a number of administrative positions at Pellissippi State, ownership of her own firm, Bradford and Associates, Assistant Buyer-Cosmetics, at Millers Inc., consulting with the Technical Assistance Program at UTK and Small Business Development Center at Pellissippi State. She is a SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) evaluator and a past recipient of the Gene Joyce Visionary Award. Lisa teaches E-Commerce/Marketing, Advertising and Finance courses.
Roger Crowe - Associate Professor
Roger Crowe joined the Business & Computer Technology faculty in 1983 following a twenty-five year career in marketing, management, and training. His undergraduate degree in Business Administration is from Tennessee Technological University, and he holds a Master in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University. Roger teaches Management courses.
Cynthia R. Dempster - Associate Professor
Cynthia Dempster is the Department Head of Business & Computer Technology. She supervises full-time faculty in Business Administration, Computer Science & Information Technology, Hospitality, Paralegal Studies, and Office Systems Technology programs; oversees the curriculum development process; is responsible for the departmental budgeting process; serves as liaison to faculty and administration; and resolves student concerns. She has a B.S. in Business Administration, University of Tennessee and a M.A. in Business Education, University of Tennessee. She is a past recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award. Cynthia teaches Economics and Management courses.
Mark Fuentes - Instructor
Mark Fuentes taught as an adjunct faculty for six years before accepting a full-time position in July 2001. He holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee and has worked in the accounting field for several years in government, auditing, and consulting. Mark teaches Principles of Accounting I and II.
Rick Oster - Associate Professor
Rick Oster has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee. He has several years of experience in public and private industry accounting, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. In 2000, Rick received the Innovations Award for his work with the Supplemental Instruction Program in accounting, and was the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2003. Rick teaches Principles of Accounting I and II, Intermediate Accounting I and Accounting Systems.
Deanne Pannell - Associate Professor
Deanne Pannell has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee. She also has experience in public accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Deanne teaches Principles of Accounting I, Principles of Accounting II, and Individual Income Taxation.
Denise Reed - Instructor
Denise Reed teaches Principles of Management, Information Systems, Production Operations and Quality Improvement.
Yolanda Roebuck, CPS - Secretary 3
Yolanda Roebuck has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems Technology and a certificate in Supervision from Pellissippi State Technical Community College. She came to work for the Business & Computer Technology Department in 1989. She is an active member of the college's Support Staff Council and has held the office of Secretary, President-Elect, and President. She was also awarded the college's Outstanding Support Professional 2000-2001.
Ann Snodgrass - Associate Professor
Ann Snodgrass has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration, both with majors in accounting, from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has several years of experience in private industry, and she is a Certified Public Accountant. Ann has been at Pellissippi State since 1989 and she teaches Principles of Accounting I and II, Cost Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting II.
Anne Swartzlander - Professor
Anne Swartzlander holds a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Consumer Economics with an emphasis in Marketing from Ohio State University. Her B.S. in Retailing is from Iowa State University. In addition to customer service and principles of marketing, she teaches marketing research. Prior to joining the faculty at Pellissippi State in January 1993, Anne was V.P., Director of Research, at Directions Data Research, a marketing research subsidiary of Ackermann Public Relations & Marketing in Knoxville. Her responsibilities included business development, management, and research. She has also taught at The University of Georgia and Mississippi State University. Before earning her doctorate, she worked in retail sales and management. She was President of the Tennessee Chapter of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals in 1993 and has been active in the Knoxville Chapter of the American Marketing Association as a founding board member. Anne teaches E-Commerce/Marketing courses.
