| Programs
The Communications Graphics Technology (CGT) program educates students in the art of visual communications. You'll receive hands-on training in visual fundamentals, problem-solving; and visual/verbal concept development for advertising, graphic design, and illustration.Contemporary software applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, and Strata (3D modeling) are incorporated throughout the program to support the development of professional portfolios. Following a core curriculum of drawing and design fundamentals, advanced courses emphasize the use of computer-enhanced technology. Upon completion, you'll be awarded an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. |

| Cooperative Education/Internships
Internships are required for all advanced students seeking a degree. Students are placed with local design firms and production-related industries. High School Preparation High school students taking graphic arts through the high school's career/technical programs may get advanced standing and college credit for some CGT classes. Generally, the study of art and/or graphic arts is the best high school preparation. Scholarships Several scholarships are available through the Pellissippi State Foundation and the Financial Aid Office. Fully equipped Macintosh labs are available for instruction and for use by students. As of Fall of 2002, under the web topic CGT is offering web design development courses using Macromedia Fireworks /Dreamweaver and Flash. For more information regarding these courses please contact |
