UT,
KNOXVILLE ARTICULATION POLICIES
The program agreements
outlined in this document will lead to the awarding of the associate degree
by Pellissippi State and the baccalaureate degree by the University of
Tennessee if the student successfully completes all the courses outlined
in a particular program. All other academic regulations of the major, degree,
college/school and university (such as grade point average and retention
standards) must also be satisfied. There are specific policies and academic
regulations that must be met before the bachelor's degree will be awarded.
Students in articulated programs with UT will not be expected to satisfy
any additional (or fewer) requirements than non-transfer UT students.
-
Program articulations
are effective for four years from the date of original entry in collegiate
level work at Pellissippi State. If more than four years elapse, the agreement
in place at that time will determine the student's status. Students will
have an additional four years at the University of Tennessee to complete
the undergraduate curriculum. If more than four years lapse, the UT curriculum
in place at that time will determine the students' status.
-
Transfer students to
UT from two-year institutions must complete 60 semester hours at a senior
institution.
-
The final 30 semester
hours must be completed in residence at UT.
-
The awarding or use
of any non-traditional credit (e.g. CLEP, AP, IEP, credit-by-exam, military
services, etc.) must be approved by the degree-granting institution.
-
When students enter
the University of Tennessee, they must meet the standards and follow the
procedures outlined in the University's current Undergraduate Catalog.
-
In addition to the specific
course requirements for a bachelor's degree, all transfer students must
satisfy any specific program, major, or degree requirement or academic
regulation that might be required for progression to or retention in a
specific program as well as all of the university's requirements for graduation.
-
The articulation agreement
must be completed prior to admission (or readmission) to UTK in any classification
(degree, non-degree, visiting).
-
No students shall be
eligible to participate in the articulation agreements if they have attempted
more than 12 hours at any college or university other than the articulating
community college.
-
Transfer students in
articulated programs must have a grade of "C" or better in freshman composition
(ENGL 1010 & 1020).
