About Pellissippi State's Teacher Education Program

Teachers not only need a deep understanding of their subjects, but they also need to know how to teach them. Pellissippi State has structured its two-year Teacher Education curriculum with that in mind.
In other words, we make sure that by the time you’ve earned your associate’s degree, you’re already well on the way to knowing what teaching is all about and what you need to be the best teacher possible!

There are many other reasons to choose our college to pursue a two-year associate’s degree:

  • Small classes. We have an average class size of 21 students.
  • Convenience.
  • Caring faculty, individual attention. We have well-qualified faculty whose top priority is teaching, and we provide a Teacher Education advisor to help you choose the courses you need.
  • Low cost. Pellissippi State is one of the best educational values around, and we offer a variety of financial aid.
  • National award-winning program.

Pellissippi State graduates can easily transfer into these local education programs.

"The education program here at Pellissippi State has made my first two-years of college very beneficial. The classes have low rations, meaning more one-on-one time with a student. The faculty have been there for me in my learning experiences from explaining a difficult homework assignment to helping me through the process of graduation and transferring."

--Brandon M. White, Education Student
