Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) provides funds for students who have extreme financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and their eligibility for other types of financial assistance. Priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients. SEOG is gift aid and usually does not have to be repaid. Awards range from $100 to $1,500 per academic year for eligible Pellissippi State students.

Application Procedures:

·         Complete the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA)

 

·         Priority Deadline: March 15, 2008

Selecting FSEOG Recipients:

1.    First Selection Group – students with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC) who are also receive Pell Grants.

2.   Second Selection Group – If there are remaining SEOG funds after making awards to all Pell Grant recipients for the 2008-2009 award year we will then select students with the lowest EFCs who are not receiving Pell Grants.
