Hospitality careers provide opportunities around the globe in challenging fields with flexible work hours, competitive pay and travel. As the largest industry in Tennessee hospitality affords the average entry-level employee with three to four promotions during the first 18 months. Take advantage of the skills you already have and those that we will teach you to start a new and exciting career in the hospitality industry.

Students Pellissippi State offers a two-year degree in hospitality, with three optional focuses (Tourism/Travel, Lodging and Food and Beverage) which provides students with the necessary skills to gain entry into the hospitality industry as management trainees. Varied course work allows students to learn the fundamentals of hospitality management. The curriculum requires students to work in the industry to supplement classroom knowledge and gain essential hands-on experience.

We have also recently added a culinary program in association with the Lakeside Resort and Educational Complex. Training in the Culinary Arts is an intense and abbreviated course that focuses on hands-on food preparation and classroom courses designed to develop participants into professional food preparation employees.

The hospitality industry includes:

  • Lodging, food service, travel and tourism, and convention and meeting planning industries.
  • The opportunity to work with people.
  • Job openings around the world in one of the fastest growing industries.
  • Salaries for top hospitality professionals that exceed $100,000.
  • Fast advancement in your field.
