ABSTRACT
Water Quality Analysis of the Regional Park Area of Athens, TN
This presentation includes a discussion of the importance of water quality and various water quality tests that were performed during this project by the TWC ecology class of fall, 2002. Three collecting sites were chosen in the Regional Park area of Athens, TN and the following tests were completed: pH, turbidity, air temperature, water temperature, total solids, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, phosphates, nitrates, and fecal coliforms. The data obtained from each of these tests gave an overall view of water quality for each site. Furthermore, conclusions were drawn from these test results concerning causes of water impurity and future implications.
