Home AdmissionsThe purpose of the program is to provide students with the knowledge, attitude, and skills required in professional nursing practice and to contribute to the promotion of health in the community. Care and concern for humanity is interrelated with scientific knowledge to promote health and the quality of life. Also, the achievement of personal and professional goals and individual intellectual, social, and economic advancement are presented in the content of community service responsibilities. The program consists of 66 semester hours of general education, nursing-related and nursing core courses. The Nursing Core Courses will be offered on the Magnolia Avenue and Blount County Campuses for the respective programs with selected clinical experiences in health care facilities within and around the Blount and Knox County service area of Pellissippi State Community College. A student must earn a minimum grade of "B" in BIOL 2010. A student must earn a minimum grade of "C" and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or above in all remaining required general education courses for the program. Applicants are ranked based on the following criteria:
Nursing ApplicationAll applicants MUST apply to PSCC before submitting nursing application. All applications and transcripts are due no later than January 31st. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are currently attending PSCC, you DO NOT need to submit additional transcripts. However, if you are NOT a PSCC STUDENT, you WILL need to submit ALL transcripts (official copies) to PSCC ADMISSIONS OFFICE. ALL applications can be mailed, dropped off or faxed to: Pellissippi State Community College Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam Dates (PDF) Students may only take the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam once per application period.
