CBASE Exit Exam

Within the next few weeks you will have an opportunity to take the College Basic Academic Subjects Examination (CBASE) at the college's expense. This test helps to assess the general knowledge and skills of our prospective graduates, thereby giving us a measure of how our college's curriculum and students rank compared to national norms. The faculty will study the results for the students as a group to confirm our program's strengths and identify areas that need to be improved.

Participation in CBASE is a requirement of graduation. No minimum score or level of achievement is required to graduate. There is no test fee. The outcome of the CBASE affects our funding. Please also be aware that the value of your diploma is related to how Pellissippi State ranks in meeting educational objectives, so please treat these tests seriously and put forth your best effort.

You must register for CBASE during the semester you are graduating to reserve a seat. Register on P.S...Web, or present a registration form at the Admissions & Records Office for data entry (i.e. summer graduates in the summer and graduates in the fall and spring graduates in the spring). Students with disabilities may make special testing arrangements by calling the Learning & Testing Center office (694-6454). You will receive a letter confirming your test date and time.

Note: Please bring photo identification, two No. 2 pencils, and a hand-held non-printing four or six function calculator to the test session. The test takes approximately 3.5 hours.

Exceptions: If you have taken CBASE before or if English is your second language or if you have earned a prior degree please notify our office at 694-6454. Congratulations on your graduation! We are proud of you and appreciate the efforts you have put forth to reach this stage in your education.
