SSWD Booster Club

Services for Students with Disabilities recognizes and applauds the actions, generosity and inclusive-thinking demonstrated by the following faculty, staff, and departments who reach out to students with disabilites enabling them full-participation in Pellissippi State's programs and activities.

Site Campus Computer Techs
Assisted SSWD in installing assistive software on the accessible computers located in the ERC at each campus.
Helpdesk
Ensures assistive technologies are installed in all open labs, testing centers, and specified classrooms to support students with disabilities
Berta Ward
Took the initiative to contact SSWD to ensure interpreters were present at the President's Convocation. Suggested alternative-formats for "Mountains Beyond Mountains" and our recently adopted "Sharpshooter."

Contacted SSWD to request advice and resources on dealing with individuals with disabilities in emergency preparedness and disaster planning.

Takes a proactive approach to Web accessibility.
Audrey Williams & ETS
Provides instructional training and support in advancing technologies and valuable resources to faculty and staff. Loan of recording equipment, D2L course setup--sswd role. Points out accessibility features in new technologies, programs and Web tools presented in faculty workshops and presentations.

Considers alt-format availability prior to ordering textbooks from publishers.
