Interpreter Services


Welcome to Interpreter Services for Services for Students With Disabilities (SSWD.) We are happy to assist you during your academic pursuit. Provided you have complied with the disclosure of disability, and you have developed an accommodation plan, SSWD will provide you with a qualified interpreter. To receive interpreter services on the first day of class, Interpreter Request Forms and a copy of your class schedule must be submitted 2 weeks before classes start. SSWD cannot guarantee interpreter services for the first week of class if the request is not made 2 weeks prior to the start of classes.

If there are schedule changes, such as adding, dropping or changing sections, you are required to notify SSWD immediately. Cancellations for interpreter services must be received as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours in advance.

SSWD is happy to provide you with interpreter services; however, habitual no-shows or last-minute cancellations is not acceptable. If you are sick, please notify the classroom interpreter and the lead interpreter as soon as possible.

After two unexcused no-shows or last-minute cancellations students are required to meet with the lead interpreter or another SSWD staff member to request that interpreter services be restored.

SSWD will provide you with a Student Responsibilities Form, which will explain your responsibilities more thoroughly. The form will also contain related website information that you will find helpful.
